]]> 上越警察署は24日（火）午前11時1分、軽ワゴン車を運転中にスマートフォンを見ていた道路交通法違反の疑いで、上越市頸城区下吉在住のアルバイト従業員43歳男を現行犯逮捕しました。

警察によりますと、男は24日（火）午前10時48分頃、上越市藤巻の上越大通り上で、軽ワゴン車を運転中に自身のスマートフォンを注視していたということです。その様子を確認した取り締まり中の警察官が、男に免許証の提示を求めましたが、提示しなかったため、逃走や証拠隠滅の恐れがあるとして現行犯逮捕しました。

警察の調べに対し男は「私はそのようなことはしていません」と容疑を否認しているということです。

運転中にスマホを見ていた理由や、免許証を提示しなかった理由については現在捜査中です。
