]]> 妙高市関山神社に伝わる伝統の火祭りが7月14日、15日に行われ、県の無形民俗文化財に指定されている「仮山伏の棒遣い」などが披露された。

「仮山伏の棒遣い」は、関山神社を戦乱から守ろうと修行僧が身に付けた武術がはじまりといわれている。祭りでは、若い男性６人が長刀や六尺棒を使って22種類の演武を披露した。この後、五穀豊穣を願う神事「松引き」が行われた。松引きは木に火を付けて倒した後、「松引き歌」を歌いながら地元の住民などが引っ張った。
